Your voice is personal. Here is plainly what Voicearoo does with it, and with anything else you give us.
Where your work is kept
Voicearoo runs in your web browser, and your voice post is made on your device.
- Without an account, your recordings, voice posts, photo, logo and settings are saved only in your own browser.
- With an account, your finished voice posts are saved privately to your account with their recordings, script and post text, so you can open them on any device and download other sizes later. Your name, title, photo, logo and look settings are saved to your account too. Only you can see them.
- Music you add stays in your browser on that device. Only the voice posts you make include it, mixed under your voice.
- The text you’re writing is kept in your browser as a draft until you start a new one.
Deleting a voice post in “My voice posts” deletes it from your account or your browser. Clearing your browser’s site data removes what is saved only there.
Speech recognition
To time captions to your speech, Voicearoo can use your browser’s built-in speech recognition while you record. In Google Chrome this sends audio to Google to be transcribed. Safari may process it on your device. You can turn this off under Settings on the recording screen; captions are then timed from the pauses in your audio instead.
Account details
If you create an account, we ask for your name and email address so we can recognise you, keep track of your plan and how many voice posts you have made this month, and contact you about your account. We do not sell your information, and we do not use your voice, your photo or your words to train AI.
Visits and share links
We count visits to this website without cookies, IP addresses or any ID. For each page view we note the page, the site that linked to it (like linkedin.com), whether you’re on a phone or a computer, and your device’s time zone. Your browser keeps the date of your last visit, so you’re counted once a day.
If you arrive through someone’s share link, your browser remembers that link for 30 days. If you make an account in that time, we note which link and which site you came from, so the person who shared it gets the credit. The Voicearoo team can see this.
Payments
If you subscribe to Pro, payment is handled by our payment provider. We do not see or store your full card number.
Services we use
- Supabase stores your account and what you save to it (voice posts, recordings, photo and logo), keeps our visit counts, and sends your sign-in codes by email.
- Vercel hosts this website. Like any web host, it keeps short-lived technical logs such as IP addresses to keep the site running and secure.
- Google Fonts provides the typefaces on this site, so your browser requests them from Google.
- Google provides speech recognition in Chrome, as described above, if you leave it on.
Your choices
- Delete any voice post from “My voice posts”, or clear your browser’s data for voicearoo.com to remove everything saved only in your browser.
- Ask us to delete your account and everything saved to it at any time by emailing hello@voicearoo.com.
- Ask what information we hold about you, and we will tell you.
Children
Voicearoo is for people 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
When we change how Voicearoo handles your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or in the app.
